Communication 2.0 – Obama continues to lead!

February 18, 2009

Following the excellent White House Transparency and Open Government memo, the Obama administration continues to set the course for business, NGO and other governments on how to effectively harness the power of the web to distribute information and content directly to people – check out:

1. http://www.recovery.gov/ – straight-talking site about the plan to tackle the US downturn

2. http://blogs.state.gov/index.php/entries/pacific_partnerships/ – e.g. Sec. of State Clinton now blogging on the US Dept of State official blog

This approach supports the findings from this year’s Edelman Trust Barometer around a strong requirement for Public Sector Diplomacy and Continuous Communication especially. This is even more true in times of crisis and may soon be a de facto standard for business, government and NGOs – surely compelling video communication like this can’t be ignored by other institutions for much longer??!?!
